Lazy Days

So, half term is nearly over, and as predicted i have spent my time doing pretty much bugger all, sleeping late into the afternoons and staying up late into the mornings, either playing FF, streaming TV shows or reading something positive, not much has happened.

well, except for yesterday. yesterday, I went to colchester to look around the university of essex, at parental insistance that i at least have a look around my first choice university, if nowhere else.

we had to get up early, and left for a long drive at half nine, which got us to the campus grounds just in time to have missed the start of the tour, but got caught up to it. generally the campus was pretty good, lots of greenland surrounding the main buildings, and trees all over the place, which sort of made up for most of the buldings being kinda ugly.. sorta uniform and office-blocky..

If I needed more confirmation that what I want to be doing at uni is english lit, i got it in the form of the library they had there.. the 5th floor of it was where all the english stuff was, just shelves and shelves of hardback books.. no crappy plastic dustcovers, just paper and covers.. and the amount of shelves.. every bit of space used.. there were so many books, it was frigging awesome.

the actual town of colchester wasn't too impressive, but it is bigger than aylesbury, and probably has much more stuff.. anyway, it was generally a good day, but really tiring. what with the early start and the large amount of walking (and the long car journey.. woo) i almost collapsed straight into bed when i got home.. i was so tired i had to skip my plans to sit up all night drinking vodka and coke.. poor me.

Patent Pending

blarg, school. half term after two days, so a break, but i don't think much is going to happen over half term. it never does (this includes me catching up on late work, woo)

profile was pretty good, with little ellis' band opening it pretty well and then various other good things throughout the evening.. mediumdave was very fun and very violent..

me, ellis and tom left profile at about nine, ten past, to head for matts. once at matt, drinking ensued. the abridged version of events is: stuff happened. the longerversion is only SLIGHTLY longer, because i am very lazy: ring of fire happened, it was fun but resulted in some throwing up on my part (it would now appear me and matt are even on the cleaning up of each others puke) after ring of fire, there was a half-hearted alcohol-poker game, which gave way to generally more interesting discussions. matt may or may not have passed out and i may or may not have used this opportunity to draw on him.

anyhow, since then not much has happened, except for school which has just been excruciatingly tedious, and.. yeah that seems to be pretty much it.

six hundred grams of cheese

well, tuesday was relatively boring from what I remember, although comms was as usual interesting (female castration.. rob bright-"I've had that done" pigford-"that explains a lot" rob-"not as much as you'd think") and something (or indeed some things) most likely happened period 5 & 6 (and at lunch, but no one cares about that.

I spent wednesday "ill" and therefore in bed till about three, which was rather pleasant. nothing ftw.

thursday was again kind of boring, computing and english were the usual bags of fun, and semi-annoyingly comms was cancelled. i went to a weird english thing at lunch where we talked about these extracts. time travel and hinted paedophilia was involved. seedy.

then there was friday. computing was boring, comms was a bit pointless (we watched a video about david beckham. you can imagine my glee) and then time was killed until japanese, which happened and was meh (we keep getting lots of japanese homework. it's probably bad for my health) and after lunch which was pretty dull i went home early, because i couldn't be arsed to hang around for the hour or so till the end of school.

i have to go to a church later.. the younger sibling is being confirmed so i have to go be bored for however long it is. at least i have profile/matts to look forward to, so it's not so bad.

anyhow, thats all i have to say, so ciao

She blinded me with library science

interesting day today, although all my lessons were extremely tedious.. periods 7 and 8 were interesting though.. just don't ask about the inflatable sheep

A Beautiful Lie

oh dear, i appear to have more than slightly neglected my poor little blog, the last one now being two weeks ago. tch. on the bright side, i'm now posting a brief overview of those two weeks. there was the.. hmm.. i can't remember too much that happened in the last fortnight.. last weekend there was leddy's party, but truth be told i don't remember too much of that. there was lots of throwing up on my part anyhow, i remember that (it would've been difficult to forget) and i remember the journery back to aylesbury the next day was entertaining, with a nine man walk/bus journey from some small village somewhere near buckingham to aylesbury. we sort of kinda missed karate last week, but me and simon went yesterday and it was fun. ellis and mark were looking at uni's in london or something, so they have now missed two karate lessons in a row.

school has been the same as ever, a frustrating amount of work that i end up doing very little of anyway, so that's as much fun as ever. japanese this year is starting to look like real work, with practising and vocab and all other varieties of fun.

the weather's been getting gradually worse, which also sucks, and means a lot of frees are spent inside doing bugger all (as opposed to outside doing bugger all, i suppose)

found three pretty good new bands this weekend.. 30 Seconds to Mars which i found through random surfing and other stuff, which is similar to how i found Veruca Salt. However, Heavens was interesting in that i found it in an email recomendation sent to me by amazon, and only bothered looking into it because all the other recomendations were CD's i had already or knew i wanted. so that was pretty cool. it's a side project of alkaline trio's lead singer, and sounds pretty snazzy.

anywho, toodles. might post again later this week.. got stuff to look forward to anyway, i'm probably going to profile next saturday, among other things. ciao
