How to save a life

I've recently been watching far too much Scrubs on this random youtube clone, and it's just great television. On a probably completely unrelated note, I'm almost constantly tired and my eyes tend to seem all bloodshot and screwy (well, more so than usual at any rate) which is never good.

seriously though. three and a half seasons of scrubs in about a week. I just don't think i'll get any work done till i've finished.

in other news, card games seem to have seen a major resurgence, with much playing of shed (with dumb rules) and cheat and now poker, with the added element of gambling. not extensive gambling, just small change at the moment.

lessons have been lessons, although today bond was away... hooray for a three period day \o/

Relentless

I think we're up to at least four signs of the apocalypse now; the two concerning me are the fact that I was more organised than some people (in regards to personal statement) and the other was the fact that I went to sleep before midnight: so yeah, be on the look out for rains of fire and the like.

the going to sleep before 12 happened last night, and as a result I got more than seven and a half hours sleep, so I was fully awake for most of today. which was okay, if you like that sort of thing I guess.

I'm not going to bother ranting about computing, but needless to say, Bond must be long overdue a stabbing or something. Comms was spent talking about something or other, oh, and everyone had to take out their phone to compare them, as it is obviously a very important status symbol. or something. maybe pigford just likes looking at shiny chunks of plastic? who knows.

frees were spent with various amounts of dithering around and then ordering a pizza, which arrived at lunch-ish.. simon charged into me from somewhere behind me and managed to send the last slice of pizza (in my hand) hurtling to the floor. he picked it up, said something about the ten second rule, and I let him have it.. I didn't particularly want the additional topping of "floor", so it was him or the bin..

english followed lunch, and failed to be very productive at all. we started reading the first part of A Streetcar Named Desire but for the most part were just talking about the genre of whatever it is.

I have to write an essay for english tomorrow, and have no frees beforehand; seeing as it is now twenty past eleven, I'm assuming I'll end up going to sleep AFTER 12 tonight, whether I manage to persuade myself to do the essay or otherwise.

Shaking

monday mornings are never fun.. today was particularly unpleasant because I only managed to get to sleep after about four AM sunday night/monday morning, so I was shattered. this is happening a lot again.. and my eyes are really screwy at the moment. like actually red and bloodshot the past few times I looked. the annoying part is i was actually trying to sleep sunday night, and all that was keeping me up was actual insomnia.

anyway, I managed to have done my english homework, and we spent the lesson preparing for and then acting out and abridged version of hamlet. our group did the first two acts, and I was "lucky" enough to be hamlet, the character with the most lines even in our abridged version.

It was interesting how a group of teenage boys managed to accidentally turn a philosophical revenge tragedy into what appeared to be a comedy.

free periods were spent complaining about not being able to go to tescos and then proceeding to do so anyway, albeit in a paranoid and "sneaky" manner.

bond decided to pick on me in computing, purely because I wasn't paying attention. This might not seem an incredible injustice, but I was the only one told of for not paying attention, and was not the only one doing so. Muzz, sitting NEXT to me, looked like he was going to sleep about four times.

on a side note: bond is apparantly omnipresent or something, because he can apparantly maintain eye contact with everyone in the class SIMULTANEOUSLY. except for me, obviously because *I* wasn't paying attention. Maybe this could have been averted by me paying attention, but he'd probably pick on someone else then. and it is oh so very boring.

lunch was spent following random people into town, losing all the people who wanted to be in town, finding them again and generally wishing my head would start working again.

I eventually decided at some point during my free period seven to go home and crawl into bed. I had the weirdest dream (and can remember large parts of it for once), and my eyes are still screwy. I'm hoping when I go back to bed (in a little while) I can go to sleep pretty damn quickly. if not, I will feast on the blood of whatever unfortunate souls have the misfortune to get in my way.

Boys Like Girls

Blerg. another week passes, dull and repetetive as ever. while i'm sure there were some interesting events this week (well, probably not; although there were probably events {or even non-events} that i would have found interesting. but that's beside the point) anyway. it was school. it was karate. it was sleep. it was wishing for vodka.

I did read a book by Bret Easton Ellis throughout this week though (he's the only author I mentioned in my personal statement I was technically lying about having read; I needed another "transgressive" novelist) anyway, the book, Lunar Park was pretty good. it starts of sort of autobiographical, with him as the main character, but most of it is a work of fiction. there are giant furby demons, so you know. that's gotta be interesting.

got me a bunch of interesting musics this week, or in some cases just heard of them.. Really loving "Hero/Heroine" by Boys like Girls and all of their other currently streamable tracks.. music i was actually sent (by matt) includes the new Sugarcult album, Lights Out, the eponymous Men, Women and Children album and the new Killers album, all of which are good.

as a side experiment, lesbians

Messy

oh no a random encounter. anyway, a week or therabouts has passed.. maybe.. but the important thing is that this week was.. i'd like to say good, but the best word is probably "interesting", so let's go with that. it was an interesting week.

now why was it interesting, i completely fail to hear you ask? well on monday it was interesting because i had only one lesson to attend (properly), which was english first thing in the morning, which while annoying was bearable. computing started, but then bond went to lithuania for the week after taking the register/"letting people hand in their projects" (like he was doing everyone a favour by demanding that the work be handed in..). the lack of computing lessons all week is one reason it was "interesting".

the other main reason was the prospect of parties at leddy's this weekend, but the whole need for money that weekend basically meant i wasn't eating and had to walk into school everyday.. this need for money at the weekend appeared to be a big problem when on wednesday, at the driving safety thing (which could have been worse, it was a serious talk, instead of some gay play with a vauge message saying "DONT DRIVE DANGEROUSLY", but was still pretty much a waste of my time. i've lost two cousins in seperate road accidents. i know what it does to everyone connected. i dont need to be told how depressing it is by paramedics and parents who have lost their children. my aunts and uncles lost sons, my cousins lost brothers..), well i seem to have gotten sidetracked a little. my point was, at the driving safety thing, i either lost or had stolen from me £15, which might not seem like a large amount, but when you are a jobless college student..

a third of that money was daves too. fun. anyway, after that, we went to see Borat! (insert rest of title here, i can't for the life of me remember it) which was quite amusing. i managed to afford a ticket by it being free thanks to ellis, so.. yeah.

thursday was thursday. need any more be said, really. there was the interesting coincidence of me having the rental fight club DVD me and alex watched last week for the comms lesson warner wanted to watch fight club in, but had misplaced his copy. weird how that worked out. i managed to save our class from some.. less interesting thing. can't remember exactly what warner said it was.

friday came, and with the absence of bond, i only really lessons periods three, five and six.. but decided with alex that japanese was cancelled periods five and six, so i went home got changed, went back into school, and wandered round aylesbury with ellis till we ended up in buckingham and then after some frantic tesco-ing, leddy's house. the party happened, and i somehow (don't judge me) managed to have the equivalent of around (this is a ROUGH estimate..) 10 vodka shots in the space of either two or three hours (again a rough estimate) which for the more ignorant of you is roughly 440ml (it could have been both more or less than this, but not by much). bearing in mind i was planning to get myself a 35cl bottle for the whole night, this is a significant amount of alcohol. i've just checked a vodka bottle for reference, and the 35cl one is 13.1 UK units. (i've only just started working this out.. FUCK that's quite a large amount of alcohol. in a two hour period...)

it almost now seems needless to say that i passed out very early on at leddy's party, and as a result, missed most of it. i was very happy for a short amount of time, anyway. then i threw up (which wasn't pleasant, and i may have.. err.. missed.. i somehow forgot about the toilet attached to the room i was in and trekked downstairs and to the other side of the house) and then was put to bed (this was some time around nine o'clock..) where i was unconcious and therefore probably happy.

woke up the next morning (having slept rather well) and was told off several times for passing out. wasted the day with matt around aylesbury among other places, and went back to leddy's for round two, which was much more subdued and was mostly just a movie and some cider, with lots of talking to matt. i talked to matt so much this weekend it's not even funny, because we also spent a large time TODAY together, getting back to aylesbury. fun on a stick. anyway, yeah. this concludes my telling of the events of this week.

November 04, 2006

And it's only half over..

i haven't posted all week because i've been too busy (you may also choose to read this as lazy, but i probably did more work [we're talking outside of school here. and woo, sub parenthesis and self-referentialism] this week than i have in ages) but am doing so now, so yeah.

the week started off badly with threats of retribution for lack of computing work done unless a large amount was seen to be done for thursday. I managed to meet this deadline, but it required several late nights, a few painful days of being walking dead, and quite probably my immortal soul. reality and subconcious sorta merged for a while back there. anyway, the work got done, even if i did have to take wednesday off and sleep through it to recover. I remember thinking on tuesday (before my plans for a day of recovery) that it has been a long week. and it was tuesday. the week was only half over.. but the work got done, and even some other work for english.

then on thursday after school/karate, me and alex had a small drunken/gaming/movie session, although somewhere before the end of fight club the vodka ran out and as a result, after soul calibur III and the adventures of battle pope we sobered up a bit, wished we had more vodka and when shell showed up there was some playing of that ratchet and clank game (not the first one but some random multiplayer spin off thing )

friday was mainly uneventful, after i wandered into town with alex and out alone, there was little of note that happened, so yeah. i seemed to have overslept today and missed karate :s darned parents not waking me and or not being around to do so..
